my grandma was married at age 8 and her husband was 42 and back then they lived with their family until they came of age at like 12!!! and then moved in with their husbands and started doing "wifely duties" but my grandma ran away when she was supposed to move out and stayed with her aunt for years, met my grandpa when she was 18 (he was also 18), they fell in love and his family smuggled her into canada and they got married here when they were older
