people are allowed to grow, but no one is obligated to accept apologies and forgive or engage ever again with people who harmed them. there are plenty of us who have not harmed others intentionally in that context which means that person made choices we are not obligated to forgive or forget just because they grew up and want us to move on from a past their ashamed of. like good luck to you, but honoring and my pain and experience is more important.
